Ielts

  • For most undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes, Teesside’s minimum IELTS requirement is 5.5 in each band

  • For health programmes, more stringent requirements apply (e.g. 6.5 or 7.0 in each band depending on course).

  • If your English score is below the university’s requirement, you can take a pre-sessional English course to improve.

  • For research degrees (e.g., PhD), the minimum IELTS is 6.5.

  • Offers

  • After you meet all conditions of your offer (academic, English, financial), Teesside usually issues the CAS in about 5 working days

  • CAS covers the entire duration of your course, as stated in your offer letter.

  • You can apply for your CAS up to 6 months before your course start date (if you're outside the UK), or up to 3 months prior (if you're inside the UK).

  • Before issuing CAS, the university will check your finances: you need to show funds (tuition + living costs) held for at least 28 consecutive days, ending no more than 31 days before visa application.

  • If you need a second CAS (after one visa refusal), Teesside may issue one more; but you need to pay full fees in advance.
